SFO Wins CIO 100 Award for In-House Development of Mobile App for Ground Transportation Enforcement

Automated citation process yields 30% reduction in administrative time

SFO was named a 2025 CIO 100 award winner for the in-house development of a mobile app used for the enforcement of Ground Transportation rules and regulations. The “SFOCite” app, launched in February 2024, successfully digitized the issuance and management of citations for ground transportation at SFO, improving accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. Key achievements included streamlined data entry, automated billing, real-time trend analysis, and a 30% increase in investigator field time.

“SFO continues to lead the way with innovative digital solutions, developed in-house, to effectively manage our ground transportation operations,” said Airport Director Mike Nakornkhet. “This application allows our enforcement staff to maximize the time they spend on our roadways ensuring the safety and compliance of our multiple modes of ground transportation. My thanks go out to our entire team for envisioning a better way of doing business and making it a reality.”
