Transportation Network Companies (TNC)

Apply

Please note that all commercial operators are required to have a permit to pick-up or drop-off at SFO.

Applicants must be licensed by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) prior to applying for a TNC permit at SFO.  Visit CPUC Carrier Status.

All applicants are required to complete a Mandatory Orientation.  Visit the Ground Transportation Permit Calendar to schedule an appointment.

After attending the mandatory orientation, any CPUC authorized carrier may apply for a Transportation Network Company (TNC) permit.  All permitted TNC’s will receive placards that will provide approved vehicles access to the airport.  All vehicles must display appropriate trade dress and placard at all times when operating at the Airport.

Operators must submit a refundable deposit for the duration of their SFO permit.

Terminate

If you are planning to cease operating from SFO, please request your permit termination using the Operator Web Portal

https://gtu.sfoconnect.com/Login?ReturnUrl=%2f

Once a permit is terminated, an operator must wait nine (9) months before reapplying.

Fees

Minimum Account Balance (Permit Deposit)
