In recognition of Asian Pacific American (APA) Heritage Month, the Airport will be hosting a live panel discussion examining the impacts of COVID-19 on Asian and Asian/Pacific American Bay Area Communities. Attendees to this virtual event will learn about the impacts of the current public health crisis on the APA community as it relates to Small Business, Seniors, Single Room Occupancy (SRO) Housing and Families, and increased Racism/Xenophobia.
Airport Commissioner Malcolm Yeung will lead the discussion, which will also feature esteemed community, civic, and business leaders

About Our Panel
Malcolm Yeung, Executive Director of Chinatown Community Development Center, will discuss the impact of the pandemic on those living in SRO housing and families. Anni Chung, President & CEO of Self-Help for the Elderly, will describe impact on seniors. Cynthia Choi, Executive Director of Chinese for Affirmative Action, will address growth in xenophobia toward the APA community. David Lei, retired small business owner and civic leader, will speak of the challenges facing small business owners at this unprecedented time.
