Pedestrian Safety on Airport Roadways - Second Notice

Pedestrians have recently been observed jaywalking across San Francisco International Terminal (SFO) roadways at multiple locations. Specifically, SFO employees have been observed on the Domestic Terminal Arrivals Level between the Center Island and Central Garage, and on South Link Road between International Garage “A” and the sidewalk next to the blast fence.

In addition, due to the recent Terminal 1 construction closure, SFO employees have been observed jaywalking at Terminal 1 Departures and Arrivals Level (at Boarding Area C exit) to and from the Center Island.  Refer to attached Maps 1 and 2 for the wayfinding-signed route between Boarding Areas B and C and Boarding Areas B and D.

For customers exiting Boarding Area C, the closest Hotel Shuttle and Off-Airport Parking Shuttle zones are located at Terminal 2 Departures Level Center Island.

This Notice serves as a second warning to all SFO employees that jaywalking is a safety issue and a violation of SFO Rules and Regulations. Those in violation will be subject to citation by the San Francisco Police Department – Airport Bureau (SFPD-AB) as well as SFO badge revocation.

SFO is committed to pedestrian and traffic safety on Airport roadways. Please keep in mind that unsafe behavior on the roadway by either motorists or pedestrians is a serious matter. Please contact Annie Chung, Transportation Planner at 650.821.6515, if any additional information is needed.
