The Airport is currently developing its first ever Racial Equity Action Plan (“Plan”). This Plan will provide a blueprint for advancing racial equity in all aspects of the Airport’s work and will become part of the Airport’s overall 5-Year Strategic Plan.
To develop the Plan, the Airport is addressing specific action areas in two phases. The focus of Phase I is on our internal programs, policies, practices, and workforce. Because understanding the needs and concerns of our employees is so critical to effectively addressing Phase I, the Airport is inviting Commission employees to participate in Racial Equity Focus Groups.
The purpose of these facilitated employee focus groups is to create an opportunity for group dialogue and to give team members the ability to provide input into the development of the Plan. Through these focus groups, we hope to not only identify key areas for improvement, but to also develop unique strategic goals the Airport can effectively operationalize moving forward.
Focus groups will be facilitated in the subject areas listed below and will take place from September 21-24, 2020. If you are interested in participating in one or more of the focus groups listed below, please complete the Racial Equity Focus Group Interest Survey.
- Retention and Promotion – Monday, 9/21 from 1-2:30pm
- Diverse and Equitable Leadership – Tuesday, 9/22 from 1-2:30pm
- Mobility and Professional Development – Tuesday, 9/22 from 3-4:30pm
- Hiring and Recruitment – Wednesday, 9/23 from 1-2:30pm
- Organizational Culture of Inclusion and Belonging – Thursday, 9/24 from 10-11:30am
