Please join the R4N1 Sustainability Committee in celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day! Tune in to this month’s (Virtual) Zero Hero Speaker Series Event - a screening of The Plastic Problem with an introduction by SFO's Sustainability Director, Erin Cooke, and an optional follow-up discussion.

By 2050, there will be more plastic than fish in the oceans. The Plastic Problem, a 2019 PBS Documentary, features one of the  largest environmental threats globally and shares what's being done to mitigate its use. Alternative products are already available and widely used at SFO through its Zero Waste Concessions Program, launched last year. Learn more about SFO's plastic-free leadership after the screening. We look forward to “seeing” you there!

Can't watch the whole movie at 11:30am! Fear not! Watch on your own HERE, and tune in HERE to celebrate Earth Day and discuss the movie at 12:30pm.

As an airport, SFO has a responsibility to care for the surrounding communities. Whether it be in the face of a public health crisis or in the face of climate change, SFO will continue its part to help flatten the curve. And while we continue to prioritize SFO’s pandemic response, we also look to honor the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day by recognizing SFO's action to address the immediate and long-lasting impacts that climate change has on our global community. Learn how and take action by joining our #Take50 Challenge HERE.
