The MVP Committee is hosting its first ever Book Donation Drive to promote literacy, develop reading skills, and provide enriching reading materials to children, youth, adults, seniors and disadvantaged members of our communities. The beneficiaries are Reading Partners, The Children’s Book Project, Curry Senior Center, and Friends of the San Francisco Public Library*.

Location: Place items in the barrels in employee breakrooms

Dates: Through April 30, 2021

New or Gently Used Books (in any language):

1. For beginning readers ages 5-9 (see wish list)

2. For children ages 0-18 (books featuring characters of color, board books, early chapter books, graphic novels, and books in Spanish/Chinese)

3. All ages (fiction and non-fiction books)

4. Textbooks Media (CDs, DVDs and Blu-rays; vinyl records; books on CDs; and computer and video games) will also be accepted.

Encyclopedia sets and magazines are excluded.

*Reading Partners helps children become lifelong readers by empowering communities to provide individualized instruction with measurable results. *The Children’s Book Project gives books to children who need them for equity in literacy, learning and life.

*Friends of the San Francisco Public Library advocates, fundraises, and provide critical support for the San Francisco Public Library and its mission for a literate and literary 21st Century community. Our next donation drive will be for new and gently used business clothing and shoes
