BART Service Changes Starting February 11th

BART Service Change
Beginning February 11, 2019, BART will begin work on a seismic retrofit of the Transbay Tube.  In order to accommodate this work, BART will shift its start of service from 4am to 5am on weekdays.

A robust alternative bus service plan called the Early Bird Express has been developed for the 4 am hour in order to accommodate passengers in this time.

Please note, for employees currently using only a BART Discount Card for their commutes, the Early Bird Express buses will require the purchase and use of a Clipper Card. The transfer service from the Temporary SF Transbay Terminal to the Airport on SamTrans Bus 713 will be free of charge for all Airport employees who show their BART Discount Card to the driver.

Sunday Service
On many Sundays, trains will single-track between Embarcadero and 24th Street/Mission stations so crews can upgrade the electrical power system thru San Francisco. As a result, the Dublin/Pleasanton (Blue) line, will terminate at MacArthur Station. Riders using the Blue line will need to transfer at 12th Street/Oakland City Center Station to get to and from San Francisco.

Check Before You Go
Because there are so many changes to the schedule, it is important that you please “check before you go” – meaning use the Official BART app, bart.gov or 510.465.BART (2278) to both plan your trip and double check train status before you go.
